Under the leadership of late President and CEO, Bill Pappas, a Vietnam combat veteran, Fosdick had prioritized the support of military and veteran causes. In Bill’s memory, and in honor of the many veteran Fosdick employees, as well as veterans and service members at large, the company continued this tradition with its 4th consecutive sponsorship of the annual Quinnipiac Veterans Dinner.
The dinner took place on Thursday, November 7th, and was open to student veterans, current service members, and their families. This event is just one of many ways in which the University supports its military community throughout the month of November.
Other events scheduled for the month of November include:
- Flag raising ceremonies across the QU’s various campuses.
- A student-hosted talent show which raises funds for Homes for Our Troops, a charitable organization that builds and donates specially adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.
- An evening with Travis Mills, one of only five quadruple-amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive their injuries.
In addition, Quinnipiac’s Veterans & Service Members webpage features a submission form through which the University community can communicate gratitude and support for veterans and service members. These messages are displayed throughout QU’s main and satellite campuses for the entirety of November. Many can also be read online.
